We are currently looking for an experience Statutory Inspection and Test Engineer due to new business gain for a very successful company.
The successful Statutory Inspection and Test Engineer will ideally have an HNC in Mechanical Engineering, or an equivalent qualification. However, if the ideal Statutory Inspection and Test Engineer has considerable, relevant experience (e.g. in Marine) in lieu of said qualifications; they will also be a consideration for the role.
Thorough knowledge and understanding of PSSR 2000 which has replaced the Pressure Systems and Transportable Gas Containers Regulations 1989 will be a requirement from the successful Statutory Inspection and Test Engineer. As well as extensive knowledge of the PSSR 2000, the ideal candidate will also have a good knowledge and understanding of Pressure Equipment Directive regulations and COSHH for Local Exhaust Ventilation Systems.
The successful Statutory Inspection and Test Engineer will be based on a single client site in the Oxford area and be required to undertake pressure testing and certification of a variety of pressure systems and equipment such as pipelines, boilers, valves, pressure cookers, compressed air systems, heat exchangers, refrigeration plant, pressure gauges etc.
A daily responsibility for the ideal Statutory Inspection and Test Engineer will be to undertake pressure system surveys in order to advise on compliance with relevant regulations.
The ideal Statutory Inspection and Test Engineer will be required to advise Head Office of any decommissioning and repair work required and liaise with engineers who are sent to undertake work, as well as produce certificates and written schemes of examination.
The successful Statutory Inspection and Test Engineer will be self-reliant and be able to plan, organise and carry out their own work. They must be able to use their own initiative to enhance their knowledge base very quickly, and to be able to work quite flexible times with no supervision.
The ideal Statutory Inspection and Test Engineer will have good written and oral communication skills and be able to work to a high level of accuracy, whilst working under pressure and meeting required deadlines.
