We are currently recruiting for an experienced Product Manager to work for a heavy equipment manufacturer.Ideally, the Product Manager will have a BSc or BEng in an Engineering, Manufacturing/ Production or Project Management discipline or a relevant HNC/HND.
A solid background in Mathematics, Science and/or Engineering is also looked upon favourably.
At least 5 years of demonstrable experience managing engineering projects or industrial products coupled with a broad general engineering background would be required from the successful Product Manager as well as previous project management experience in an engineering/manufacturing company is required.
German or Danish language skills; would be an advantage as this company are a German company; but this is not essential.
Experience in product Research & Development would also be an advantage as well as knowledge of the on-shore or off-shore wind energy sector.
The Product Manager would be required to project manage all aspects of a new product line for the Wind Energy sector including, research, development, design, manufacture, delivery, installation/commissioning and final handover.
This is an office based Product Manager role with occasional travel both within the UK and internationally.
The role of Product Manager provides direction and management for the new product line development as well as the quotation and coordination of existing and future projects. It will be very hands on role, requiring a high degree of self discipline and personal drive to manage the activities and demands to get the new product up and running while ensuring contractual targets are met.
The Product Manager is responsible for the scope management and commercial performance of the project to meet project goals and objectives.
Specifically, the successful Product Manager will be researching and developing the product to meet the current and future requirements of the wind sector, coordinating the product design from the concept through to as built status with the Design Department.
The Product Manager will also be responsible for establishing cost effective procurement, logistics, manufacturing and assembly process to optimise the product production quality and delivery performance as well as working with the after sales division to create a product installation and commissioning, service and support structure to provide total service for our installed base.
Produce quotations and manage orders for current and future projects working with domestic and international customers and partners.

* Ensure Company policies and procedures are adhered to as defined in the Integrated Management Systems documentation and statutory requirements.
