Our successful company based near Edinburgh require a mechanical design engineer with a BSc or BEng in Mechanical Engineering or Apprentice trained Mechanical Engineer with HNC with experience in industrial or marine applications. They must have experience of solid 3D CAD package, preferably with structural analysis using finite element modelling. Ideally you would also have experience of using Pro Engineer and Pro Mechanical

Should have a flair for problem solving and design innovation.
Should be flexible and have a track record of creating high quality production drawings.
Ideally will have awareness of requirements for products and systems in military environments such as equipment standards for safety, shock, noise, vibration and hazardous areas.

The design engineer would be required to design and draw support equipment for a variety of marine-based handling applications. Design new support and test equipment and provide mechanical design support to equipment in-service. Provide support and problem-solving expertise during the equipment build phase in the workshop.
