We are currently recruiting for an experienced Materials Planner to commence work with one of the larger bus and truck manufacturers in the United Kingdom.

Ideally, the successful Materials Planner:

* Must be computer literate, especially with Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word
* Must be numerate and have good attention to detail
* Will have a minimum of 3 years experience in a materials planning environment
* Must be an excellent communicator at all levels, including shop floor engineers, management, and suppliers
* Must be a team player as well as capable of working on their own initiative
* Must have a good attitude and personality, with a can do approach
* Will have knowledge of MRP Systems, as this would be a real advantage

Daily Tasks and Responsibilities of the successful Materials Planner include, but are not limited to:

* Having ownership of action lists from Material Planners, in order to ensure all actions are completed
* Standing in for expeditor's during periods of holidays and absence
* Updating bills of materials using the MAX System, which training will be given on
* Assisting with the Material planning schedules, checking and scanning
* Assisting with the implementation of delivery performance measures
* Planning and expediting development team parts for retrofits and campaigns
* General documentation control and filing
* Preparing materials planning spreadsheets and reports
* Communicating with the management team on all material planning issues

The role of Material Planner is all about supporting the material planning team and undertaking any role and task to enable delivery of the team's objectives.

Initially, the role is on a 26 week temporary contract, however, this will lead to a permanent position within the company.
