we require a costing / estimating engineer from a marine boat building engineering background in the North East area, you will be tasked with costing, estimating and tendering for business. 

Short Description of daily tasks
The role of the Cost / Estimator Engineer  is to assist the Commercial Manager in all aspects of estimating commercial pricing for the Company, preparation of tender documentation and preparation / monitoring of project budgets. Typical duties would include costing customers boat specs anything from the  a new pump to nuts/bolts, pump fittings.

Person Specification
The Cost / Estimator Engineer experienced as a hands on engineering background ideally (practically based)

The marine Cost / Estimator Engineer will have Sound technical knowledge (mechanical) is required (estimating commercial pricing for the Company, preparation of tender documentation and preparation / monitoring of project budgets)

Excellent excel spreadsheet skills are a necessary requirement

Priority will be given to those with a marine background

Ability to prioritize large volumes of work. 

Must be able to demonstrate a self-reliant and be autonomous
Job Specification
Identifying bill of materials from client specifications

Production of accurate and timely job costings from bill of materials

Obtaining accurate and timely estimated prices for job costing from suppliers

To analyse variances between original costing & actual to improve costing accuracy

To prepare standard costing for items

Preparation of documents for tender submissions

To supply data for Management & Commercial Reports

To carry out general administration duties associated with the role
