Our client is currently recruiting for an experienced Application Engineer to join their successful and expanding team. Our client has a high number of orders coming in at present, and are, therefore, looking for experienced professionals to be part of their success story and continue to work for them with future orders as they continue growing on a rapid basis.
It is essential that the successful Application Engineer has a Degree in Mechanical Engineering. Applicants for this Application Engineer position with a Degree in a related discipline may be considered, providing there is a heavy mechanical engineering bias apparent also.
Automotive experience is preferred from applicants; however, this is not essential. Application Engineers who have extensive experience with organising and working with NPI activities will be looked upon favourably.
Our client would preferably like Application Engineer candidates to have good 3D and/or 2D CAD design experience. Specific packages are not necessary, training will be given on their chosen CAD Package providing the candidate has a good background knowledge of CAD.
The successful Application Engineer will be required to liaise with all other departments within the company. This includes the production team, manufacturing team, research and development department, sales, and the testing and prototyping department.
It will be a main responsibility of the successful Application Engineer to work closely with customers, ensuring designs are robust and meet the customer requirements. This customer interaction also includes discussing the feasibility of the designs and if the timescales are realistic.
Application Engineers will also be responsible for evaluating each project, theoretically, as well as using CAD and validation tests. Prototypes are not sent through to manufacture until each project has been evaluated using these methods.
The successful Application Engineers will be working very closely with the CAD Team.
Any modifications which the design requires, will have to be communicated to the client by the successful Application Engineer, as well as be explained as to why these modifications have taken place.
The ideal Application Engineer will be a confident, out-going person, with a good, solid knowledge and working experience of CAD Designs, preferably relating to construction or agricultural vehicles.
The successful Application Engineer must have the ability to turn projects around relatively speedily, as orders are coming in thick and fast. They will also be assisting the sales team in their Requests for Quotations, with any technical information which is needed for said Quotations.
The salary is dependant upon experience and Application Engineers from various backgrounds will be considered; from Graduates with at least 12 months experience to Application Engineers with a good few years experience.
Our client is happy to accept Application Engineers who are able to re-locate to the area, from any location within UK or Europe.
